Mods still showing up after I remove them from mod folder

After the recent update I started having issues related to mods so I removed them all from the mods folder and yet every time I start the game I keep getting the pop up message showing all the previous mods I removed. I even deleted every games save and it still does it. Why is this happening and how do I get it to stop. I know if I go into game options and disable mods the pop up won't show up but If i remove all mods why is it popping up in the first place?

  • @J0hn_W Could you try deleting the following file: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\localthumbcache.packge
  • Thanks. I think part of the problem is that after the recent update a lot of creators updated their mods and so I had to find out which one was the one causing me problems.

  • Im having the same issue right now, and ive already taken out localthumbcache... help

@alexys1129  Please make sure you're removing mods from the folder Sims 4 is reading.  If you've removed them from a secondary folder, such as one inside OneDrive, the originals would likely still be in place.

Please also make sure that OneDrive (or iCloud on a Mac) isn't redownloading your files from cloud storage after you delete them.
