Try this key combo:
Control + Shift + Windows Button + C to open the cheat console.
Some players have reported that some brands already have control + shift + c as a shortcut to something else, so for PC users playing Sims 4 you will need to add the windows button to get the cheat console to work
Yes, that was one of things I tried but unfortunately it hasn't worked...
