I attached a screenshot of what I meant by the User Folder. And I tried to move the documents over to the new drive and when I launch Sims, it just makes a new sims file on the same hard drive.
@JazzieThuqqinz If you merely cut and paste the Sims 4 folder, or the contents of Documents, to the new drive, the game won't be able to find its user data folder and will create a new one. That's why you have to go through the process of redirecting everything to the drive you want.
It's best not to move the entire User folder to your secondary drive: you can move one or two large subfolders (i.e. Documents, Photos), but leave the others. This is the guide you want:
