Game won't update

Question

Hope this is in the right spot, I really have no clue what to do 😭 It makes sense to be an EA app thing, but I'm not sure tbh.

Even with the hotfix being out, game still won't update. One of three things happen:

A popup saying an application is preventing it and to close the app and try again with the update. The app is plumbuddy, but it wasn't open before (sometimes it is open even if I hadn't touched it.)
Or the update pauses on it's own, I try again and it just repeats.
And not as often but once or twice I get an error and to try again.

I've cleared the app cache according to EA instructions.

I'm totally cool not playing with mods/CC for awhile as I've been wanting to try at playing vanilla again, but I'd like to be able to open the game.

And I tried to play offline, no wifi or anything but couldn't even do that 🙄

This worked for me, and I'm able to play with mods. Still can't update, but at least I got the game up and running.

CC is working for me, but I've got a lot and can't test every piece 😅 So far no complaints.
