My first pet stuff pack

hi I have my first pet stuff but it says on the main menu that it requires the main game and cats and dogs which i have, but nothing from the stuff pack is showing up in game

also i was under the impression that i would get certificates for maxing skills or babies etc but i've never gotten any mail or certificates and my family has had two babies nd one sim max out painting skill

I am playing on pc (and sorry if obvious but I've only started playing like a couple of weeks ago (despite having the base game since release)

    Open buying panel and choose "all objects". Then find the "Filter items" tab on the right. Check if there is a "My first pet".
    If it is there, click it.
    If you have this pack installed in the game, then you should see all the objects this pack contains.
    When it comes to achieving skills or having children besides notifications in the game you don't get any certificates.
     Remember to always set aspirations according to the skills your sim is just learning. If he is learning to paint, select Outstanding Painter, aspiration, If he is fishing, select "Great angler" and so on.

    Fix the game in Origin.
    Origin/My games library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
    You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.

    I should have said. I've already tried that, and cleared cache.

    Would I need to start a new game or should it work in my current game

     I am having the same problems seeing items. I have Cats & Dogs and just purchased my first pet. I can see all of the available items to buy in build mode but when I go to place item in home it's invisible but it will still charge me. I have closed and restarted my computer. please help.
