My game won't launch. No mods.

For months The Sims 4 crashed frequently, and now it crashes every time I try to launch it. I've repaired the game. There are no mods. It still crashes.

@JulianneALee First guess would be you have too little free space on your system device. Try deleting stuff off the system device and see if that helps.

  • Could you please post the following info

    1. Your Computer's DxDiag
    2. If you have, the following file: Documents\electronic arts\the sims 4\lastcrash.txt
    3. The following file: Documents\electronic arts\the sims 4\config.log

You can upload DxDiag and config.log directly to your post.

For any lastCrash files, either create a rar file and upload that or copy/paste the content of the file to a post inside spoiler tags (the icon next to the strike-through)

Mmm...is 85G enough free space? In any case, that's not it. My son created a clean install, and now the game works fine. I have to start adding in my temporarily removed userdata bit-by-bit, to find out what in it was mucking up the works. I don't think it's coincidence that the crashes began in earnest when I started using the bunk beds in the 3/23 update. Not when I downloaded the update, but when I started using the beds. If anyone has any advice on how to go about reinserting the userdata, I'm all ears.
