My own tray files not showing up in the library

Moving to a new PC, I've saved my "saves" and "tray" folders on an external drive. I've put them where they belong on the new PC. My saves are just fine but the tray files don't show up in the library.

I've enabled the gallery CC filter, run the game modless, and repaired it via Origin, all to no avail.

I remember that, when I was messing with the "tray" folder (creating a new one, pasting the one from my old PC, pasting only the contents of it), some lots showed up. They were very old ones, like the first 5 I've ever made.

Please help.

@amator_miodu  That's definitely strange.  I do wonder whether that would happen if you zipped the Tray folder first, but if you've found a workaround you're happy with, it's a moot point.

  • @amator_miodu  Try saving a new lot and see whether that generates a new set of Tray files.  If it does, make sure the other Tray files you've added are in the same place and that their names have exactly the same format.

If you still have access to your old PC, you can also try transferring the files again, this time zipping up the entire Tray folder and only unzipping it when it's on your new PC.

@puzzlezaddict I just noticed that, in my old files, there are householdbinaries, rooms and blueprints. No trayitems or any other types. It seems there must have been a problem when I was copying them. I guess I should have zipped them as you suggest. Still, I have an older backup made by just copying and pasting and that one works.

@puzzlezaddictThis is weird. When I play with my tray folder (copying, pasting, moving), sometimes it deletes the bpis, trayitems, etc. in the process and leaves just housholdbinaries and blueprints. This happens so rarely that I can't even repeat this. Either that, or there's some other factor to it.
Fortunately, I still have the saves with all the lost lots. Thank you for the reply.
