my saved files aren't showing up in my game

I haven't played the game since before lockdown so there's been a few updates since then but i opened my game today and i still had all my expansion packs there but none of my saved files. it's also not showing any of my mods that i had downloaded even though everything is still in the sims 4 folder on my computer.

i watched a video on how to recover old files but there's a step where you match up the files on your computer to the save file on the game and i don't even have that on the game. it's as if the whole thing has been wiped, i even got the message saying are you new to sims 4 when i clicked the play button.

my game isn't recognizing the files in my computer or something, i have no clue how to fix it

  • @FR3Y0  You'd only be able to see the file path to a new save if you created a new save, and even then, you'd have to hope that the new save file didn't also get moved before you could check on it.

If you can't figure out where the new save lands, please open the Sims 4 folder that contains your content in a File Explorer window, copy the file path (above the list of files and folders), and paste it here.

    "A:\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves

    is this what you mean?

  • @FR3Y0  Have you redirected Documents to your A drive rather than C?  Is there still a Documents directory on C?  That might be the one the game is reading, rather than the one you've listed.  To double-check, you can create a new save and then see where it lands, as described earlier.  Or, if you already know that there's a Sims 4 folder in C:\Users\your username\Documents\Electronic Arts, you can move your saves there instead.
