I also have this issue. My sim won the first award of the night. She was not able to collect it (she was actually outside when the award was announced - she arrived shortly after ceremony started)- The Accept Reward action was canceled every time I selected it on the microphone. Then the host stood back from the microphone while the guests all looked on and "Watch"ed, but nothing happened for hours. I had my sim use the microphone (Tell Jokes) to see if that would reset mic. Didn't work.
Also, the host left in the middle of the ceremony. Another host showed up but was stuck outside the door until a few minutes before 11:00pm when the event ended. No one ended up with a reward, as there was never any other rewards announced.
Though the message said the reward would be in my sims family inventory - it wasn't there.
