My sim won't play the guitar

So I just got City Living and I'm trying to get my sim better at music so I tried to get her to play the guitar I just bought her (it's in her inventory) and she just resets, like it's in her queue for half a second then she resets and it's gone. What do I do?!? THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN MY SIMS TRY TO SELL A PAINTING TO A COLLECTOR!!

P.S: I've gone into my mod conflict thingy to see if any of my CC is editing it but most of the stuff that are highlighted as mod conflicts are CC that none of my sims are wearing so it's hard for me to see how it would stop her from playing the guitar. I have disabled a lot of it though.

  • With the 50/50 method you can.

Put half of the CC/mods back and test the game, keep splitting until you find the broken CC/mods (which could be multiple).

Those that are broken, either find a new version of it (contact the maker or look it up online again) or delete it.

  • The mod conflicter tells you what mods conflict with each other, not if it causes issues in the game.

Try moving your Mods folder to your desktop and see how the game runs without.

I already knew it must have been a problem with my CC so I tried and yes it works fine she plays the guitar now but there has to be a way to work around it? I mean any Sims 4 game experiencing problems with CC in the game is bound to be fixed once the mods and CC is removed but still I searched many hours for all the CC I have. Is there a way to work around it and actually figure out what's causing the problems?

So yesterday I kept dividing my folders and seeing what the problem was and I deleted a few mods whilst I saw them appear by chance after wanting to delete them for a while and so I was seeing if the very last folder had the problem in to see what it was and it worked fine, so I must've deleted the problem by chance. Anyway everything's fine now, thanks for the help 🙂

  • Hey! I have the same problem but way too many mods to sift out through 50/50. I was hoping you might know which mod(s) were causing the problem for you?

You need to get used to check which of your Mods needs updating. It may just be one now but next time the game is updated it might be 2-3 or more.

If you want to play with Mods and CC it is up to you to keep them updated.

Hi, I had the same problem and was dreading the 50-50 thing then I remembered I had downloaded some mods to make my sims autonomously play instruments. I did a search and sure enough, I had 4. When I started up again I could play the organ FINALLY!

Maybe autonomous mods don't agree with the game or maybe you have the same mods!

    Anywho hope it helped 🙂
