my sims 4 game keeps crashing to desktop

So recently (after the paranormal stuff update) my game crashes to my desktop. I have done some research online and have tried everything I could find to fix it such as: - Uninstalling/reinstalling ...

@gwhite96   Is your HP laptop a Windows 7 upgraded to Windows 10?  Have you checked to see if there are any Windows 10 updates lately?

it's a windows 10 and yeah it's all up to date.

      So I fixed the "crashing" problem but now I have another. Turns out that the green check mark next to the windows update doesn't necessarily mean it's completely up to date wtf 😞 Anyway, now the game starts (very slowly) but then freezes on the blue screen with the plumbob and words at the bottom. Actually the plumbob goes away and then it freezes. Any ideas?

      P.S. and to answer your questions there were no lastcrash.txt files and I haven't changed my graphics settings in forever and it still used to play perfectly fine on them.

        @gwhite96 Did you put any mods back or is that still without ?

        if the crashing stopped, I no longer need the lastcrash.txt file.
