My Sims 4 game looks different to everyone elses

Alright so I've had this game for about 5 - 7 days, I've watched Youtubers play this so it looked soo fun I had to get it! After about 5 hours of downloading, I started playing it and I noticed right after I made a family, my entire game looked so different to Youtubers, Screenshots of the web and ect. I have no idea why its like this, I just want to know if this has happened to anyone else and if so, has it been fixed or is it this looking really bland.

For more details on how it looks like: There is NO shadows when I go outside, when I look at my Sim, it looks fuzzyish., the water in Willow Creek has no shine and doesnt look like its moving like it usually would and theres WAY more differences but I am way to lazy to type them all.

Please help me..

  • Your computer does not really fulfill the minimum requirement of the game and your graphics drivers are rather old (but they might be the newest ones anyways).

    What settings do you have the graphics on (under options) ?

    Talking about Graphics..

    I went to look at them and they were all low so I changed them to the hugest they can be and it looks normal now!

    Thank you sooooo much! You made my day 10 times better!

    If it gets sluggish, you might need to tune it down again and live with lesser graphics.

  • To make your sims less fuzzy, the water and mirror have reflections, and the house objects have more details, while you are playing the game, click on the bottom left circle and select options. From here the first tab should include graphics, make sure your settings are on the highest, (even if the game says it might negatively effect the game it really doesn't) and after you alter the settings, save and quit the sims. Open it again and you should see a major difference!

    Hope this helped!

    I also have this problem but it doesn't actually save the graphics every time I save and quit it's automatically back to the low settings so it doesn't work.

    Hey @sofiacapp have you tried playing around with your settings, lowering them to see if the game looks and runs as expected?

    @sofiacapp

    Your graphics settings are stored in the options.ini file in your Sims 4 folder. If that file is deleted or moved from the Sims 4 folder your game will revert back to default settings when you launch it. I believe there is also a known issue with certain antivirus blocking access to the folder which may be causing your problem - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/CURRENT-ISSUE-Anti-Virus-blocking-User-Folder-Screenshots/td-p/9572695
