My Sims 4 is stuck on the home screen

After the last update, I am unable to play, because the home screen never stops loading. I am unable to click on resume, or play a scenario or anything at all. I have repaired it several times, uninstalled the EA app several times and reinstalled it, I've removed most of my mods and, frankly, I'm at a loss at what to do next. My EA app no longer has a help button and, in they past, EA is less than helpful. I hope someone can help me!

  • @celebhith  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
