Solved

My Sims 4 won't run 64bit version

I'm having trouble with getting the Sims to work on my PC.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the game and the EA app
Clearing my cache
Moving files around
Organizing my cc/mods
Updating my mods/cc
Removing my mods/cc
Removing my saves
Sending in a EA support case which they said they can't help me and closed the case
And then I tried it all again
Then I tried the suggestion on the EA help site to start a download, pause it, moves files, complete download
It's been a week of me trying to get it to work. I click play and it just opens the EA app and doesn't open the game.

Also I tried changing where the EA app reads my game files from and that doesn't take either. I'm at my wits end. I have a challenge starting Monday that I won't be able to do because I can't get my Sims game working.

Did some more troubleshooting today. Backed up and synced my One Drive. Made sure EA and The Sims 4 had access in my Windows Firewall. Uninstalled, Updated, Reinstalled and repaired all my Microsoft VC++ files. Uninstalled the Sims and the EA app several times, cleared the cached again, repaired the game a few times, and reinstalled. After 6 hours, it's still not working. It could be an issue with the TS4 x64 Game/Bin files being blocked or not found that is causing it not to open. I checked and it has permission and is unblocked but that's all I can think of at the moment. Can anyone help me please?

  • @LaLadyPanda  You don't need to delete those files.  I just meant delete any copies of TS4_x64.exe you find, not any file or folder with that string in its name.  These files are just error reports and other hidden data, nothing that affects how the game itself runs, at least under normal circumstances.

Ok I've uninstalled and removed EA and The Sims 4 (I backed up all my saves, mods, tray files firt) but when I run Everything, I get these results and I don't have permission to delete them somehow.

    GUESS WHAT??

I got it to work! There were so many issues redownloading EA and Sims but I was able to mitigate it and then I did 50/50 adding saves and mods back and found that one CC file was corrupted. I had to repair the game every time I added something in lol but it all works now finally!

I wish there was someway to repay you for all your help hard work and dedication to helping me. I'm a Sims streamer and EA content creator and haven't been able to play or create content for weeks. My whole community is excited for the comeback now. Thank you so so much! You're amazing!

@LaLadyPanda  I'm so glad to hear everything's working now.  If you want to make a gesture in appreciation of the time I spent (and I was glad to spend it), give something away to a member of your fan base.  I know there are lots of players who have to budget for even a stuff pack and who treasure every bit of new content they can get.  I'm sure it would mean a lot to whoever received something, even if it's just a couple of kits.
