my sims cant use a computer or chess table?

my sims cant use a chess table at all or a computer? they wont even sit down at the desk or place its at? they just wave and they say they cant do it so they cancel the action? they could do it before so idk what has happened? it has just started happening today to me and its happening on all my save files and with all of my sims!
