My sims keep disappearing when i load them from the gallery???

I have no idea. I load my sims from my gallery and they appear in the game but I cant control them and then suddenly they disappear either from the lot or when I go on manage worlds and come back in. its like they were never there please can you fix it I want to play with my sims
