My Sims/walls/floors turned black

Whenever I load a saved file I've been playing with for a while, today out of the blue my sims as well as the walls and floors suddenly turn black. 

It only happened to one household and when I go to manage worlds the house appears with a black rectangle on it.

I have already read and done the possible fixes shown in this thread, went through some of the threads with similar problems as mine (and also did the solutions such as lowering the graphics, enabling laptop and windowed mode) but it didn't help my game at all. I have CCs and I have all the expansion packs. I have been playing for more than a year now and this is the first time I have encountered this error.

    @NeverDoubt93  There's nothing obvious in your dxdiag other than a bunch of Adobe-related errors.  That shouldn't have anything to do with Sims 4, of course, but if Adobe is crashing or lagging, you might want to look into those.

    For this one save, are the backups affected too?  Here's how to recover one:

    It's a good idea to make a backup copy of your saves folder now, in case this problem isn't present in the backups (or your other saves) but surfaces later.

    I was experiencing this issue and found that it occurred on lots/rooms where the auto-lights feature was activated.

    I turned off this feature and things went back to normal.
