New laptop for Sims4

I'm sorry to inconvience you, but my current laptop is not good enough to play the Sims 4, so because Christmas is coming up, I thought te cheapest option would be to get a new laptop, but I don't understand what half of the product details mean...

So I know this is a pain, but do you know if the ACER Aspire V5-122P (refurbished) from Currys Pc world is good enough?

Thank-you and sorry again, if you have any cheap laptops that can run the game, please recommend them to me, thank-you.

That won't run the game. It doesn't have a dedicated card and the processor is with 1.0 hz way to low.

    Hi,

Maybe you should try to put the Graphic quality to Ultra-Low.

I have not better idea yet, but it works on my computer.

  • Here is the minimum requirements for Sims 4:

REQUIRED: Internet connection required for product activation.

OS: Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 8, or Windows 8.1

PROCESSOR: 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4000+ or equivalent (For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62 or equivalent) MEMORY: At least 2 GB RAM

HARD DRIVE: At least 9 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games

DVD-ROM: DVD ROM drive required for installation only

VIDEO CARD: 128 MB of Video RAM and support for Pixel Shader 3.0. Supported Video Cards: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or better, ATI Radeon X1300 or better, Intel GMA X4500 or better

    SOUND CARD: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

    DIRECTX: DirectX 9.0c compatible

    INPUT: Keyboard and Mouse

The AMD A4 is underpowered and does not have 128mb of DEDICATED video memoryand will probably have problems with Sims 4

You should focus on a fast HDD paired with a dedicated GPU as mentioned before. If you are able, shop Newegg/TigerDirect/Amazon if they ship to you, and search with the options, Solid State Drive, Dedicated GPU and DDR3 RAM. You will likely find a good deal with some models missing a few bells and whistles in terms of connectivity options and low resolution screens, but the hardware will push Sims 4 on Med/High for you. An SSD is likely overkill in terms of the money they cost, but they will give you great speeds for read/write, so see what you can find without that and compare your final results. And ensure you check the 8GB DDR3 models in terms of 4GB DDR3 models, chances are you can double your RAM for a few dollars more in some instances, so don't just see the first shiny system you see and say, "Ooh! This is the one!" Chances are there is an even better model just a few clicks away for the same or just a little lower/higher in price. For your needs, your best investment will be time to research; it will pay off for you.
