Same, something very wrong happened with the patch today. I have no mods installed, repaired my game from the EA app. On launch I get to the main screen, then I get a sims delivery error, the same game load issues as you, and trying to start a new game crashes the game completely. Entirely broken and unplayable until they fix it. Very frustrating.
EDIT TO ADD: Just tried repairing again, still broken AND the gallery is completely busted too. Just lots of red X's over every single thing.

Saw this post as well as someone in the comments over on SimsCommunity talking about this. I had already downloaded the update, so I very nervously loaded my game. I use mods, but they were disabled with the update and everything seems to be working fine for me. I started a new save (no mods) and it worked. I also re-enabled mods and loaded my previous save, which also worked. I use steam, and didn't get a notification for SDX (Which the sims team mentioned we might get)
Do either of you have SDX auto-updates enabled? Because I believe I have them disabled. (I don't want to open my SDX settings for fear of it downloading it and breaking my game.)
I also play on Steam, if that makes a difference.
Hopefully whatever is causing this gets patched soon. EA will probably release an emergency patch for it soon, as they did with the last update.
Yeah I have a feeling this is an EA app related issue. Something went wrong with the SDX drop itself by the looks of it. I do have them auto-enabled but it's never been an issue before. Attached is the error message I get on startup. I've restarted my computer, messed with the game options, etc, but nothing has helped. Hopefully someone at EA figures out what happened soon, because right now it's like the whole game is corrupted. I can't even click on some of the home screen UI without it having a problem.
Hmm…have you checked for a game update on the EA app? I know EA was supposed to release a second patch for the sims delivery error.
I haven't seen anything, I updated around the time I got out of school so around 3:30-4 eastern time. From my understanding all updates were already pushed out by then. I only updated my game because I'm working on a save file and was planning on building another house, but I can't even do that because my saves are corrupted. I did all the troubleshooting actions like repairing, reinstalling, clearing the cache... etc etc. I can only wait atp
