Same, something very wrong happened with the patch today. I have no mods installed, repaired my game from the EA app. On launch I get to the main screen, then I get a sims delivery error, the same game load issues as you, and trying to start a new game crashes the game completely. Entirely broken and unplayable until they fix it. Very frustrating.
EDIT TO ADD: Just tried repairing again, still broken AND the gallery is completely busted too. Just lots of red X's over every single thing.
I have the exact same issue; my gallery is also broken completely. I've reached out to EA live support and the only thing they told me I could do was wait. It's really silly that I have to wait for EA to fix the game their OWN update broke 🤣
