news feed blank

I play Sims 4 on Origin, Windows 10 machine. I just spent the past two days trying to resolve this issue with support and they directed me to post here as there is nothing they can do and it is a developer issue.

Everything works beautifully EXCEPT my newsfeed in the gallery shows up for a second and then grays out. I still receive notification and get badge numbers letting me know that I have news to look at, but I can't. Support said that with the last update the news feed was disabled for anyone using Windows 10.

Is that true? If so, when will that be fixed and/or how do I access my newsfeed in some other way? I need to be able to see who is commenting on my builds without opening every single one. (I build a lot)

    @icanhassims go to Documents > The Sims 4 and delete the file called "notify.glob" and see if that helps. The game will regenerate a new version of this file the next time you run it.

    First of all, there was the Origin crash recently. The Gallery doesn't work well after this event. I personally uninstalled Origin and downloaded it again. All news feeds are showing now. Try this method.
    Uninstall Origin in a hard way - in "Add / Remove Programs" and download a new one here.

    If you will have any problems after opening Origin, for example, not displaying add-ons or friends list, just refresh the Origin page.

    Thanks for the suggestions! Do you know if I'll have to re-download Sims if I reinstall Origin? I spent about five hours yesterday reinstalling and I'd love to avoid that if I can.

    thank you so much for sharing I was dying without the newsfeed. Especially with isolation- not being able to see that people were downloading my uploads was depressing.
