No "Ask To Leave"/Sim gets stuck

I invited one of my sim's friends over to their house and now they won't leave. Goodbye doesn't help adn I can't ask them to leave. I've tried moving the household out, changing the lot type to Residential, and then moving back in but it seems the glitch changes the lot type back to a blue square. Does anyone know if EA knows about this, are trying to fix it, or if there IS a way to fix it?
