Hey Guys! 🙂

After the recent update(s), I have been having trouble with SpellCaster eyes. I've seen other topics where people have been having similar issues where the special eye's just for SpellCasters were not working is completely different to the issue I am having. When I enter CAS, and create a Caster, there is no colour menu for eyes at all (as seen in image). I have tried updating/repairing the game via Origin, deleting CC that had mod conflicts but still nothing seems to be working. Has anybody else had a issue like this? How did you fix it?

  • Hi @SumnerVain

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • This still seems to be an issue as far as the January patch is concerned. CC eyes stopped working for spellcasters ever sense the Dec 12th patch. There have been updates before that somehow disabled certain cc, that was later fixed with another patch.

I forgot to mention custom skintones are not working for spellcasters sense Dec patch as well. I hope this gets fixed soon.

  • I've just started having this issue too. Exactly the same setup, and all other occults eye options show up in CAS like normal. Just Spellcasters. I've tried all of the above, repaired everything. So far, my bandaid fix has been to just apply CC eye colours in the makeup tab of CAS but it's annoying to have to go and do it for every outfit.

  • Same issue. I use default replacement eyes and they show up for everyone except spellcasters. I have no eye color options at all for them. I even created a sim with genetics that was half spellcaster, but came out a human and they had the maxis brown eyes (not my default replacement) and no option to change the color. I can change the eye shape, but color remains the same. I attached an image of the child sim with the spellcaster parent.

(This is when starting a new save btw. In my current save that I've played since 2017 spellcasters have the default replacement eyes I downloaded.

@NayaMasters are you sure the default replacements you're using are compatible ? Does it work if you remove them ?
  • Hi! I'm having the same exact problem. Almost none of my CC will show up in CAS when creating a spellcaster. Even with no CC in my game, I cannot change the eye color of the spellcaster sim. Will this problem ever be addressed?

This is why I don't particularly play with Realm of Magic. I can't use these sims as I use every other occult sim.

@takarakyrese Are you using default replacement eyes as others in this thread ?

Can you change them if you have no mods/cc in your game ?
