No memory, game keeps crashing

I feel the same way. I've tried all the tips here for crashes. I removed mods and saves. Made firewall exceptions. Once, I got to the world overview, but with zero credit and no cheats, I couldn't even create a new household. Saving wouldn't work either. Since then, I've been getting the same error message as the screenshot attached above. I'm slowly losing interest. It can't be right that a botched update is being made the players' problem. If you can't get the game running again, you're just out of luck. That's how it seems to me right now.
