NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 Graphics Card Conflicts With Sims 4

I've been having an issue with my PC and the Sims 4. I'll be playing the game and without a doubt the screen with blackout and then turn gray. I can hear the sounds of the game but I cannot see what's going on. I don't even know if I can interact with it either. I have mods added btw. I have fiddled with my mods but it never ceases to turn gray and I have no control over what's happening. I have to do a forced shut down on my PC in order to get out of it. Does anyone have any ideas about what's going on or how I can fix it? I had a friend tell me that it was my graphics. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 card.
