[OFFER ENDED] Issues with getting free Sims 4

I cannot add Sims4 to my games library having no abonament. I taught while the game is totally free for a weak or so, anybody can just claim it.. standart edition at least. Not me aparently. I can only click to buy it for 0 for someone as gift, but as im clicking it, all the names are grayed out.

could you try clearing your Origin cache files: https://crinrict.com/blog/2014/09/delete-origin-cache-files.html and then go to this link: https://www.origin.com/store/the-sims/the-sims-4

There should be an orange button saying: Get it Free

• What Windows version do you have ?
• Which country do you live in ?
• Did you clean Origin cache as well as your browser cache ?

I also had this problem with the Origin client. I went onto the website, logged in and the "Get It Free" button was there.

I had the same problem. 

I just download it through the web browser and it seems to work for me.

I was able to fix the same issue you describe with by doing this:

1. Go to the page where you see the 2 options to purchase as a gift or buy the digital deluxe edition

2. Scroll down to the bottom and you should see button "Store Preferences"

3. The only option you will have is to change the "Country/Region". I changed it to "United Kingdom". Then hit "Save".

4. Proceed with trying to "Get the game" again. This time you should have "Get the game" (or something like that) option instead of purcahse as gift.

5. When you hit the button though you will receive warning that you cannot buy the game due to the change in the settings and you will be asked if you want to be returned to  your home region to proceed with the purchase. Confirm that and then the page will refresh, and you once again have to go through the process of "get the game" but this tird time you should actually be able to add it to you library.

Hahah :D I know its weird fix but it worked for me so I just decided to share. hope it helps🙂

Quit origin then load it back up. May have to login again but I did that and it worked when I went to the options

I had the same issue but I found a work around that worked for me. In the Origin client on PC I was also only getting the “purchase as a gift” or “put on Wishlist”. I put it on my Wishlist and then went to the top of the client to “view” and then down to “Wishlist” and it actually let me select it and download it from there without going back to the Sims 4 Store page.

For anyone with the "Buy as a Gift" issue, I was able to circumvent this by adding Sims 4 to my wishlist, then went to the wishlist, clicked on Get It Free, and then it added it to my library. Hope this helps. 🙂

Add it to your wish list first, then go to your wishlist and click the game and go to the buy now $0.00 bit. then you will be able to download it.
