Origin App is now trying to reinstall after 11/1 update

Ok so for starters i Lothe the Orign App & only play my games through the EA App. I have originally had bought The Sims4 on Origin but I has Sooooo many issues. So i had to stop playing it. When the EA app came out i was happy that i could finally delete that old busted app. When the Sims4 came out on Steam i paid more money just so i would be able to share screenshots with my friens on there. However, when I ran it through steam it wanted to reinstall the Origin app. I said nope & just went back to the EA app. On 10/18 when it was Finally anounced that the EA app was coming out of beta and the busted Origin app was Finally retiring. I was very happy. A day or two later it connected to my steam & all was right in the world. No issues & even ran smoother than before. Then 11/1 happended, now when i load my Sims4 it wants to reinstall Origin yet again. I thought that app was retired, except for MAC.

Now my EA app telling me i have to download the game instead of the Play button. However, i cant download it again. Because it is grayed out & i cant play my game now.

So can you PLEASE undo whatever the 11/1 patch did to my 10/18 patch when it comes to the EA & Origin apps. So we can play it on EA and connect it to Steam again.

You are the first I have seen that preferred the EA App over Origin. Please post a screenshot of where it says it is trying to reinstall Origin. Is the message coming from steam? It will take some time before Origin is retired as there are still games that do not work in the EA App.

BTW. Do you have the basegame through Origin/EA App then the download button is a known issue that came when the Game became Free to play. It is safe to click download in this case. It will not actually download the game again but just verify the files. You will need to download the patch though.

Yeah when i had/have the Origin app it was constantly updating and majority of the time it would lock up and freeze. I was constantly have to login my info because it would never save it & when i did finally get it to load it would Lag so much it made it impossible to play anything. With the EA app i have never had those issues & my lag is now basically gone. Unless it is/was some issue with a patch update. Even when it attached my steam account a couple of weeks ago. When i have originally got the game i had bought it on Origin.I also only get my DLC directly from EA and not through a third party. I have been playing Maxis games since they started back in the 80's & literally own every The Sims & SimCity game they have ever produced. Lol, on almost every platform and console they have been released on. So about other games not working on the EA app, I dont know about that. Yes i do have some Sim4 game issues, however that have nothing to do with the app.

So for some reason my PC would not let me print screen so i had to get creative. LOL however it does look like that it is the steam client that is the Steam Client that is trying to load up origin again. So who knows why because from EA's list of what was in this small patch. That was not listed on things they were changing or fixing. It is just annoying because all i want to do is play my Sims4. What sucks is the only reason i even got a 4 copy on steam was to share screenshots with friends & for the community stuff.

It appears that the Steam client service is asking for permission to run so it can update Steam on your PC. If you have a problem with this, I suggest that you ask Steam support. A recent update to the EA App made it work with Steam. Before that Origin was required.

    Update

So Steam got back to me and this was their reply:

    "Hello,

Thank you for letting us know about your concern, however, to help you with this issue, please contact the EA support team as they are best equipped to resolve any issues you are experiencing with their product.

    Steam Support
    Niel"

So apparently Steam says it is an EA issue & you all say it is a Steam issue.
