Origin download for The Sims 4 is beyond fustrating

I bought Sims 4 in store and the process couldn't have been more fussy (or should I say a waste of my time). I created an Origin login, then I had to redeem my code for mac download (I had to google search where the redeem page was because it wasn't where the instructions said it was), I downloaded Origin software (had to google search this as all you were told was to find Origin Client which was nowhere to be found on the Origin website), I downloaded sims 4 once in Origin software (2 hours later), and lastly I tried to Install. The install clearly did not work, I could click the button but it was clearly not following through on the command. So I tried reopening Origin and to my surprise I had to restart the install process which was taking another 2 hours. I gave up at this point. Why the makers of The Sims found the need to make simply downloading a game onto your computer so complicated I don't know. For an avid Sims lover all I want now is a refund. I love the Sims but I am so disappointed in this complicated process. If anyone has a simple solution to this please let me know as I would rather not return it if there are other options!
