Origin login is currently unavailable

I've seen so many forums and so many blog posts mentioning the same thing, which is the following:

1. go to control panel.
2. Go to internet options.
3. Click the connections tab and at the bottom of the window click on LAN SETTINGS.
4. uncheck the option Use a proxy server for your LAN.
5. Click Apply.
6. Close Origin restart the program and computer.

but unfortunately, in my case, I can't access Origin whatsoever even after doing the steps mentioned above. It keeps telling me that "online login is currently unavailable" no matter what I do.

This is seriously becoming a hopless case for me and I really want to play The Sims 4, so it's such a bummer to not be able to do so.

If it's any significance, I live in the UAE, and yes, I have unticked the proxy server for my LAN.
