@dragonmasteriz Try disabling any overlays you currently have running, including Origin in-game. For Origin specifically, hover over your username, select Application Settings, then More > Origin in-game to see the option. Then open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties, and uncheck the box for Origin in-game.
For the problem with Origin not updating, please post a screenshot of any error you're getting. Please also let me know what version of Origin you currently have.
P.S. No need to apologize for anything—we're here because we want to be.

@puzzlezaddict Okay, I tried opening Origin again and when it said that it couldn't install the update, I took a screenshot as requested. I used Origin offline, but instead of taking me to my games library, Origin froze and said that there was an issue loading the page. I did try reloading the page, but it did not work. I selected the Sims 4 game from my desktop and it loaded and then crashed.
Also, thank you so much! I legitimately just got this laptop, so i'm still learning how to do things. I'm also very new to Origin, so people like you are so much help!

@dragonmasteriz The error 9.0 has been around for a month or so and can be stubborn to troubleshoot. But try the instructions at the bottom of this post first:
The "Well, that didn't go as planned" message isn't surprising given the fact that Origin can't update. I wouldn't worry about it unless it reappears after you've managed to fully update Origin.
