Origin wont launch Sims 4

Hello,

So I don't play Often, and this was my first time launching since the magic update released. the game launched just fine at first, then told me my mods were disabled because of the update. so I went to Options and re-enabled my mods, then I applied settings and exited the game. Now my game wont launch. The Icon doesn't even pop up signifying that the application has even started. Origin goes away for about a second and then comes back up and nothing else happens. Ive been going through the forums, Ive restarted my PC, added multiple exceptions through my antivirus, launched as administrator, and repaired my game and all DLC through the Origin library. So far, I cant find another article with a solution that I haven't tried.

I made a GYAZO of what its doing, you can see the launcher disappear after I click play and re-appear multiple times.

  • @policegamer122  I've moved your post to the Sims 4 PC tech forum.

Please move your entire Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and try to launch the game.  If it works, the problems is one or more outdated mods or cc items, which would not be surprising given that there have been a few patches since you last played.  You can sort through them by testing them in batches in the clean folder and seeing which one(s) prevent you from launching your game.  Then you can move the contents of Saves and Tray from the old game folder to the new one, and your saves, builds, and saved households will be available to load again.

When you set exceptions in your antivirus, did you specifically choose TS4_x64.exe (and Origin.exe)?  TS4.exe is only for the 32-bit version of the game.

If you can't launch the game with a clean folder in place, try a clean boot with your antivirus disabled again.

    Hi @loisthegreat,

Consider hitting that XP button by Puzzles post if it helped you out. In the meantime I'll close this thread to limit necroposting (bumping old threads).
