Pictures turning black

    Basically this: 

    Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

    You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

    After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

    Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

    The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

@mailo1993 Could you test a fresh save game to see if it's related to a certain save or a general issue ?

    @mailo1993 Just tested mine to make sure it's not a general issue and they are fine for me.

    Are you playing windowed or full screen mode ? Does that make a difference ? Could you test what happens if you tick the uncompressed sim texture ?

    @crinrict Ah I ment general in my sims 4 game 😅 Playing full mode. After I updated drivers I tried both settings: low and high quality. It didn’t work, still same issue. Also tried repair after updating drivers. Not trued in laptop mode tho, is it worth trying?

    @mailo1993 Don't think so, if it's related to laptop mode, it's usually the laptop mode that's the issue, not the other way round.

    I did understand what you mean. I was just testing to see if it's still fine in my game to make sure I don't make you jump through hoops for something that everyone has :D

    There are other reports if pictures are put in chest but I don't think there's currently one where they're all just black.

    Did you try a folder rename/game repair yet ? Don't think we've covered that.

    @crinrict Rename? Rename what? 🤔 Game-repair: yes, up to several times after doing something: not working and then repair, trying something new again and didn’t work, repair again and still nothing 😅

    @crinrict It worked! I’m SO happy right now, would call you a lifesaver, for my sims 😂😍 Thanks so much for all of your tips, not only did you fix my game, but you also learned me more about computers, drivers and what to see for to fix problems 😄
