Pink and purple lines instead of graphics!?

I have just purchased The Sims 4, and installed it on my PC.

As the game started up, I noticed some weird graphics, I thought it may be a new design on the new game.

No, as it still continued into the menu and the creation of a Sim.

There are pink and purple lines on each icon, which makes it difficult for me to recognise and familiarise with each new button. 

I can hardly see where to write the Sim's new name, as there are lines there also. 

In the start-up of the game, where there are hints at the bottom of the screen, a 4 squared purple and pink lined diagram is spinning in the middle of the screen. 

I'm not sure if this has happened with anyone else, but I would like to get this fixed!
