Please help mee understand this

I have soo many questions to ask right now. First of all, I was wanted to know about my main issue about my game not working. I updated my Sims 4 game before the time limit of it not working properly anymore if you don't update it in time. (At least that's what I've heard from somewhere, I truly hope that that's not the real case here). But now even after the most recent update, it's not working the way that its supposed to. And I don't know what it means by this Game Hub. All I want to do is just play the game and enjoy myself, but it feels like I can't do that. ☹️(

  • @MayZillah  Please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't help either, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Please also describe the issues you're currently seeing in detail, including a screenshot of any error you get and when it happens.

Hi! I am having the same issue as OP! I tried what you recommended - I moved my preferred game file to my desktop, started the SIMS4 game (it created a new folder), and was able to get to live mode with a new Sim. I'm now here with my preferred game file on my desktop. Let me know if you have any other tips!

@BreannaMochida  The next step, if you use mods or custom content, is to test those files.  You can do so in batches, or use the 50/50 method if you have a lot of files to test:

    https://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Finding_Problem_Custom_Content#The_50.25_Method

Once you've done that, move the contents of saves and Tray from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one.  If you care about the login rewards, move UserSettings.ini too, plus Screenshots and Recorded Videos if those matter to you.  The rest will be regenerated as necessary, so you can leave the old copies behind.

  • I performed the steps as suggested. It still did not load the game to live mode. A couple of things to note:

    • The game loads to the main screen fine, I can even claim my rewards for the current promotion, but when I select my game to load and play I get stuck in infinite loading.
    • I don't have any mods to sift through. I gave up on using mods a while ago because it's so annoying to lose all items/progress when the game updates and to wonder if any of them were breaking my game.
    • I noticed that in the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 Packs > EP06 and GP03 folders have warning symbols on them. I tried repairing the game but it didn't help to remove the warning symbol

@BreannaMochida  To be clear, even with no mods or custom content, your main households in your main saves don't load?  Can you load a different household in any of these saves?  Please test and let me know.  If a different household works, please also try moving your main household to a different lot, then loading that household and the original lot separately.  The idea is to see which one is the problem here.  You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.

I also see you tried to post a screenshot, but it's broken.  So please post a new one, and also one of the warning signs you referenced if that wasn't what you were trying to show initially.  If you're showing me something from a File Explorer window, please include the address bar, above the list of files and folders, in the screenshot.
