@sunneva05 Did you run Windows update to try to correct the update failures? Are you sure you got the correct driver for your system? Can you run other 3D games? Try to run a benchmark program like 3dmark if you don't have another 3D game.

You mean you have the same issues ?
You might wanna take the computer to a shop. Seems your card is using a lot of your RAM or something is faulty about it.If you have someone tech savy, you can also check the BIOS to see where it's used.

@sunneva05 You need to provide more details. Which update failed - it should be a kb plus numbers? Recently I had an update that failed after failed again. I googled the kb number and downloaded the update from a Microsoft support site. I then ran it and it failed again. I then restarted the computer and tried it again. It finally succeeded and the Windows update no longer finds any updates. Mine was a serious security update. Once you have a clean system you should download a video benchmark program like 3dmark. If you can't run 3dmark you have some serious issues. This will tell you if your video hardware and drivers are working. Your operating system is 64 bit so this game should run set at 64 bit. There is no reason to set this game for 32 bit as the new expansion pack requires 64 bit. Many games today are requiring a 64 bit operating system and as most cpus are 64 bit ready and as 32 bit applications run under Windows 64 bit - there is no reason to have a 32 bit operating system anymore. Ubuntu (Linux) 16.04 server is 64 bit only. Ubuntu desktop 18.04 (17.10 also I think) is 64 bit only. Dxdiag just checks the system configuration and displays that information. It will display an error if information is not returned or the information is corrupt. Example - if the video driver is not the latest it will display the information found and not flag it as an error. The resolution of 1366 x 768 is the highest that can be set without designing more hardware into the motherboard for the video system. Laptops are all about saving power and a gaming system is all about providing power. If your going to play 3D graphical games on a laptop you need a gaming laptop. You say there were two graphics chips. It is possible you downloaded and installed the wrong driver. The video driver provides the ability to switch video chips on the fly. Without the right driver this will not happen. Is there a gaming video chip in your laptop?

@sunneva05 recovery should only be used if you have a general system issue. Like if you tried to update a driver and that device no longer will work or has issues working. If just one game is having issues you need to troubleshoot the issue. You now have your system in an unknown state. If your system is reloading the old driver then you may be trying to install the wrong driver. You have made several statements that need to be confirmed. Something about two graphics cards and you did a recovery. Doing a recovery should be the very last thing you do to correct a problem. If you haven't done a save in some time (a save should be done just before you try to install a driver you are unsure ofso you can restore the system to a known previous condition) there is no telling how much will be reversed. IMO - I think the video drivers are Windows default and you may be trying to load the incorrect drivers which the system is rejecting. The very first thing you need to do is determine if there is a dedicated video chip in that laptop. If there is you need to get the proper video driver for that model. You need to get the operating system (Microsoft Windows) working correctly first THEN troubleshoot the application if necessary. We need to see your systems configuration and start from there.
