BritTheBrit  If your lot has the Off the Grid challenge, please remove it.  You can do so in Build mode: choose Load Game rather than Resume, click the lot, and choose Build mode rather than Play.

Otherwise, move the sims to a different, EA-made lot (nothing from the Gallery) and try to load them there.  You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.
