Problems with the game recently

Since the latest update I’ve had multiple errors. Half the time I start my game up and get to the opening screen then my laptop restarts. The other half of the time when I can actually get into the game it won’t let me load my households. I’ve took out all my mods and am still not sure what’s causing this. Does anyone have any ideas?

  • It’s also still stuck on forever loading even when all the mods are removed! I’ve been playing this same game for years I’d really like to be able to keep it if anyone knows a way to help

  • I took the sims file out of the ea folder and the game started up just fine. What does this mean? Can my old game be saved?

  • luh53  The problem, or at least the Sims 4 problem, might be a file in ConfigOverride.  So you can try adding your saves to the new Sims 4 folder the game would have created when you opened it after removing the old one.  They might be fine.

As for the BlueScreens, the game shouldn't be causing those, not without an underlying system issue.  Let me know if they're still happening and you'd like help troubleshooting them.  In that case, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
