Problems with Video card

I have a ROG GL771JW-TS71 which is a Intel I7 7420HQ, 16 GB, 960M 2 GB GDDR5. My problem is Sims 4 reads the card as a 920M which is listed in the database for Sims 4. The 960M is not listed in the database and it is not listed in the Graphic cards but is shows in the Bin under drivers. The 920M is a weaker card and runs 920M under medium settings. The 950M runs the game using high settings and being the 960M is the higher card and should run the game under high as well. but due to the fact that the 960M is not in the database it runs on medium settings. I tried to edit all the files necessary to get the 960M listed it does not work. It wipes my Sims 4 config file and Sims 4 will not start. Any help will be accepted.

As usual you have to use workarounds to resolve your issue being EA/Maxis are slow to add to the database had to use GeForce Experience to resolve the issue. I wish I didn't have to but it is the only way.🙂

Download and install the newest drivers from Nvidia.

The Sims 4 does not read your card it simply uses the installed drivers.

Do not manually edit the config.ini file use the settings dialog in the game.

To repair the damage you did right click the Sims 4 in Origin and select repair.

I found out if I disable the intel card it does not allow me to access my Nvidia panel which to me means somehow the intel card and the Nvidia card are interlaced, I hate dual card laptops.

After the new windows 10 update: You will have to reinstall your drivers, the update deletes your drivers they all go back to factory default.

    I had the same issue.
