Cannot Download Maker Packs from Marketplace

Hey!

I recently bought some Maker Packs from the Marketplace, but when I try to download them, it simply does not. The downloading bar appears at 0%, and after a few moments, it says "Download Failed". When I go to the Download Manager, it states "Couldn't Complete Download". It also does not allow me to delete this message.

The packs in question are "Reader's Nook", by ValiaSims, and "Rustic Nest", by KKBsMM.

I've tried to clear the cache, repair the game, uninstall and reinstall the game - but nothing worked.

What can I do?

Let me know whether there's a TS4 folder inside, and if so, whether it has any files inside it.  There should be two .dat files, plus one .bpf file per successfully-installed Maker pack, although it sounds like you haven't been able to install any yet.

How do you install the .bpf file into the folder?

  • alicegothspell  Try deleting the TS4 folder (with the game closed) and restarting your computer.  The game should recreate the folder and the .dat files the next time it loads, but let me know if that's not the case.  Try again to download one pack.

If that doesn't help, do you own any kits through the EA App?  If so, please uninstall one of them, under Sims 4 > Manage > Manage add-ons, then see whether you can install it through the Marketplace.  The idea is to test another item that we know works in another context.  You can reinstall it through the EA App later no matter what the outcome here.

Brook_364  The .bpf files are the files that contain Maker pack data (and kits if you install them through the Marketplace).  They're created when the content is installed; you don't create them manually.

puzzlezaddict So, I deleted the TS4 folder (game closed). Restarted the computer, and loaded the game. The two .dat files were created with no .bpf file. Tried to download one pack, same issue ocurred, download fails.

I went to the EA App, and tried to uninstall one of them - but nothing happened. I pressed "Uninstall", but there was no response. If it helps, all kits were bought in Steam.

  • alicegothspell  I apologize for the late reply; I've been away from the forums for a while.  Is this still an issue for you?  If so, please try again but in a new admin Windows account.  Since the AppData folder is specific to the account, a new user means a new folder.  And if the downloads work in the new account, that points to a problem with the old folder.
