python37_x64.dll error at launch?

I am losing my mind. If anyone can fix this, you would be my savior. I just want to play the Reaper Rewards event, but I can't even launch the dang game. No Mods or scripts, just an old save I want to continue that was working previously.

It keeps crashing at the menu. The few times I've made it into a save, it crashes a few seconds later. Been going on a few weeks now.

Things I have tried:

Checking Windows Defender and making sure Sims 4 and EA are both added and allowed.
Updating all drivers, including graphics.

Updating BIOS for stability.

Reinstalling visual c++ redistributables

EA App restart, cache clearing, signing in and out.

Launching EA App as admin

Reinstalling and repairing multiple times.

Fresh documents folder.

Tried both -dx11 and -dx9 in arguments

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and sfc /scannow in powershell as admin, no errors.

The DXDiag looks okay to me, but the reliability monitor pops out the same couple of errors and I don't know how to fix it:

@SimsSeer  I'm glad you found that thread, as the recommendation has helped almost everyone who's showed up with your class of CPU and this particular error.  It's not an Asus issue so much as a platform stability issue with 13th- and 14th-gen K-series processors.  What I believe is that by default, most performance-tier motherboards overclock the CPUs as much as they can without frying the chips, and that's too much for Sims 4 even if other applications are fine.

A BIOS update may fix the problem if and when Asus offers one for your particular board that's specifically targeted at platform stability.  I have had a few users report that they could reenable XMP and CPU Turbo Boost after installing the relevant update.  So keep an eye out for newer BIOS versions.

That is good insight, thank you. Having a 14900k is awesome in many ways but can make older games have issues. Sims 3 had to have the alder lake patch etc.

I currently have XMP turned off anyways as well bc of crashing issues unrelated to sims.

I have the ROG Maximus Z790 Formula mobo. There is a slightly newer BIOS update available for it but I didn’t want to use it yet. The one I have right now is from August (1503) but the new one from September (1602) is still in Beta so I’m not going to use it yet.

Hopefully this issue is resolved one day, but for now the game runs pretty flawlessly so far with the CPU turbo boost turned off.
