python37_x64.dll errors.

My game will not stop crashing. Sometimes it's 5 minutes in, sometimes it's 20 minutes in, but it will always crash. Here is what I have tried:

  • Uninstalling and Re-installing TS4
  • Deleting the Sims 4 folder and generating a new one more times than I can count.
  • Adding my GPU (Nvidia 4090) to the GraphicsCards.sgr and placing it in the ConfigOverride folder.
  • Checking and re-installing my GPU drivers.
  • Running the Memory Diagnostic Tool with normal results.
  • Playing the game in DX9 vs DX11.
  • Run the System File Checker with normal results.
  • Turning off Antivirus and Firewall.

I am not playing with any mods or CC, I am just trying to get the game to run without crashing. I check the Event Log after every crash and it will almost always point to python37_x64.dll as being the faulty module. I have no idea how to solve this other than what I have tried above. This is exactly what it says in the Event Viewer:

I was not having any issues with my game before the most recent updates aside from needing to manually add my GPU. This is also the only program on my computer that does this. All other games and applications have no issues with stability aside from TS4. Is there any way to get some help? I have attached my Dxdiag to this post . Thanks.

@puzzlezaddict, thanks for all the suggestions. I did try a Clean Boot but that didn't work. I DID go back into the BIOS, though, to double-check on the overclocking situation. I'd gone and looked at it last week and all the OC stuff seemed to be disabled (which is how I like it) but I found a sneaky "Turbo Boost" setting for my CPU that I disabled and, so far so good?

I am super hesitant and nervous to say that I've found the solution but I have had the game running for a few Sim days now with no crashing where before I couldn't even do one full day in-game. Going to try to stress it out a bit with some travel and clicking around but I can tentatively say that the Turbo Boost on the CPU seems to be the issue. I'll check back in this thread if I turn out to be wrong! Thanks again for your help with this.

Hello, I have the same problem, I get the same error, have you solved it? I'm a little afraid to enter the BIOS and disable the Turbo Boost, did you do well with that? I really do not want to deconfigure my entire PC....

  • Marilu_8  If you'd like a second opinion before jumping into BIOS settings, feel free to post a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Having said that, changing this particular BIOS setting won't damage your PC.

  • Marilu_8  You do have an affected processor, so the same workarounds apply to you.  But you also have an outdated BIOS version, and updating has helped some players.  I believe this is your motherboard:

Double-check the model before trying to install a new BIOS.  For reference, your current version is 3.01, released at the end of 2022; the most recent version is two years newer.
