Re: Application TS4.exe has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware

I need help, too.  My laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU. But I keep getting an "application is blocked by the graphics" error when I do certain things when playing Sims 4. It happens when I move my cursor quickly or right-click my mouse to turn. The game freezes, turns white, and the error pops up. My drivers are also up to date. I used to play on PC, and I did not have this error. This usually happens with lots that are sloping.   I have all packs except for a few kits.  Please help me.

  • @attaboi123 I had this problem intermittently on a brand new PC running Windows 11. I found that it was caused by a dodgy piece of custom content I'd installed. Once I removed that kiwi fruit plant addon, I was able to play again as per normal.
I'd suggest just disable all your custom content and see if the game behaves itself. If it seems ok, then you can go back and start re-enabling them one by one.

One thing that tipped me off is that the error occured when the game was updating the garden plants overnight (like changing the models from a seedling to a small bush).
I hope you can solve it, this is a really annoying thing to happen when you've just upgraded to a nice new computer.

  • @attaboi123  I've split your post into its own thread because the other thread was somewhat old and didn't precisely cover your issue.  Thanks for providing the dxdiag, which would have been my first request.

Your dxdiag shows a few errors related to one of the graphics drivers, so the first step is to do a clean uninstall and reinstall of both the Intel and Nvidia drivers.  Here's how:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

Please start with the drivers Gigabyte provides for your laptop.  They're somewhat old, but with these at least, you're getting drivers that may be tuned to work with your particular laptop rather than the more generic versions from Intel and Nvidia.  And it's simple to update later.  The drivers are here, under VGA:

    https://www.gigabyte.com/Laptop/G5--Intel-11th-Gen/support#support-dl-driver-vga

If prompted, choose G5 GD, your laptop model.

Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.

If you see the same error again, please post a new dxdiag.

Is this kiwi plant from icemunmun?

I saw my kiwi change to a bigger one, then my game crashed again after a few seconds.  I removed the kiwi from my game, and so far, the error stopped.

Now, I know that a cc could be responsible for the "Application TS4.exe has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware."

I appreciate your help very much.
