Re: Can I delete the sims without deleting expansion packs?

@GamerMatt9089  A complete uninstall and reinstall is usually not necessary.  Try repairing the game in Origin first: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.

If you do need to uninstall, you can preserve your saves and other content by moving the Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts somewhere else on your computer (your desktop would be fine).  This folder contains all user-generated content, and its contents, or even the whole folder, can be swapped in and out whenever you like.  So if you get the game running properly again, all you'd need to do to get your saves back would be to copy over the files inside Saves.

When you uninstall and reinstall the game, your packs get reinstalled too.  Just like the base game, packs are owned by your Origin account, not your computer, and you can reinstall them as many times as you want.

If you'd prefer to troubleshoot in other ways before uninstalling, let me know, and I can make some suggestions.  Please also run a dxdiag and attach the results to a post.

@GamerMatt9089   If you got the game fixed that's great but if you still need help we need the whole dxdiag test file. Attach the file to the paper clip in the lower right of the forum response window.
