Re: Can I move my EA folder onto another drive?

I have my Origin install directory and Games folder frequently not installed in the default locations.

Some things are still stored on the Profile like David said.  AppData/local/Origin for example.

----

When you move the Games folder you just need to remap it in origin's settings.  If you want to move Origin, I uninstall it and reinstall it where I want it.  Can't say I've ever tested just moving the folder, might work but not sure.  Uninstalling Origin does not remove games so that's why I choose to uninstall it.

Since your talking about storing Mods and Screenshots elsewhere... those I believe go to "Documents" which would be on the C: Drive Profile likely.

You can get around this by using a symbolic link.  MKLink

I used this a lot back in the days of $300 60gb SSDs and we were paranoid of wearing out the drives from writes.

  • Hi, I'm having a problem. I downloaded Origin and The Sims 4 onto my Hard Drive, but for some reason my Sims 4 save files keep download to my C: Drive. I've tried finding a way to redirect my save files to my hard drive, but everywhere I look it's either not what I'm looking for, or there is too complicated directions. So I was wondering if you could find/make a video explaining step by step directions and showing what to do so It's a little easier for me to figure out. I have alot of mods I would like to se in my sims game and very little space on my laptop to do so, can you please help? Thanks
