Re: Can I run Sims 4 on my MacBook?
@Delfinriff Hey. Your English is perfectly clear and understandable. 🙂
Your graphics card meets the minimum so you should be safe there, though you'll probably want the graphics settings as low as possible.
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce 320M, 9600M, 9400M,ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro or better. Video RAM of 256MB or better.
Your CPU is also a little below min specs, but not dramatically so. I would think the game will run anyway, but with an occasional stutter.
In your case I'd try getting the game, and if it doesn't run acceptably get a refund though the Great Game Guarantee: http://help.ea.com/en/article/what-s-the-great-games-guarantee/
You can return the game - for any reason - within 24 hours of starting it up. Check the link for more details.
Also, if/when you do try the game, I'd recommend running with a Clean Boot. This should reduce the number of 3rd party programs that might consume resources, and may help the game run more smoothly. Check the spoilered section for a mini-tutorial.
To run a Clean Boot on your MAC:
Make sure Auto Login is Off:
- Go to System Preferences in the Apple menu
- Open the Users and Groups panel
- Click the Lock at the bottom corner and enter your password if needed
- Click on Login Options, find Automatic Login, and select Off. Note, this can always be turned back on after the Clean Boot process is complete.
Log-in and complete the following steps to clean boot:
- Go to the Apple menu and Restart
- Once restarted, type your username and password but do not hit enter upon completion.
- Instead hold the Shift key as you click the login button.
- Your user account will load without additional startup-items, or applications. Release Shift once your icons and desktop appear.
After completing these steps on MAC, some less necessary programs and customization options that normally start-up when you log-in will have been disabled.
Thanks, and I hope this helps.
