Re: can't update my sims 4 game

Since the new infant update first dropped, I haven't been able to update the game at all. Essentially it will start going, the percentage will jump around while processing, never getting past 52% and then I'll get an error. I've tried pretty much all solutions I could find - cleared cache, updated app, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, ran as administrator, restarted my computer, and placed exceptions for antivirus. I also have tried repairing the game through the app but it won't let me do that either.  It does the same as the update. At first, I thought it was just an issue that everyone was having when the update first dropped but it has continued despite everything so I'm not sure what else there is to do.

@garlicxbride  I've merged your post with another thread for this issue.  Please try the suggestions in the accepted solution on page one and in post 18.

Still no luck for me, I might cycle through the methods one more time just in case I didn't do one of them right

Would it be worth it at all to try uninstalling TS4 itself? It's just such a hassle I don't really want to try it if it's unlikely to help

@garlicxbride  It could help, sure.  You then wouldn't need to update the game.  If you can't install again, clear the EA App's cache:

Restart your computer, and try installing into a different folder, one that you create for just this purpose.  Be sure to use a folder on the root level of the drive of your choice, for example C:\Games is fine, but not C:\Program Files\Games.

Uninstalling the game worked because it helped me find a possible cause. While uninstalling it, I found that a file in my The Sims 4 folder had been corrupted. For me specifically, it was Delta > EP03. So if anyone else still has the problem, I'd recommend checking the drive that your game is on. You can do this by right-clicking the drive, choosing "properties" and then from there "tools". I'm not entirely sure if that was the actual cause but it can't hurt to scan your drive for errors regardless. If the problem persists then maybe that was just a coincidence and you should just uninstall but that's what worked for me.

Thanks for all the help regardless!
