This is the error I get when I even try to view details on one of the neighborhoods from the packs it claims I don't own. 😬
@gudgrl87 Yes, you seem to have two entire copies of Sims 4 installed. You can delete the one in Origin Games, I mean delete the entire folder, and clear the EA App's cache:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
Then try again to download your packs. But if that doesn't work, you'll need to do a clean uninstall and reinstall of Sims 4:
- Put aside your Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and rename it to something that doesn't include the words "Sims 4."
- Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
- Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
- Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
- Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
- Close Revo, and restart your computer.
Since it's worth being thorough, uninstall the EA App with Revo as well. I don't have instructions for that at the moment, but the process should be straightforward. Restart again when you're done.
Install the EA App, then the Sims 4 base game and one pack, and make sure that pack loads. When you start the game, the App should automatically start downloading your other packs, but please pause this and report back if the first pack doesn't show up in-game.
But everything worked fine until this most recent update.. And I'm on metered internet sadly, so re downloading everything doesn't seem very practical.. Would it work if I changed the file location to the origin files?
Figured it wasn't working so I had nothing to lose.. I cut the files from the Origin Sims 4 folder and pasted them into the EA Games Sims 4 folder and it seems to work fine now. Thanks @puzzlezaddict! Wouldn't have thought to check the files if it weren't for you!
