Re: EA App - Blank Screen

@Asher2cool1  Please uninstall the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), which is more thorough than a simple uninstall.  When reinstalling, allow the App to install where it wants rather than trying to direct it elsewhere.

I tried this (I have the same problem as the person you initially replied to) and I can't find the ea app in this uninstaller. Do you have any advice on what to do please? It's really weird. What's even weirder is that sometimes my game still starts (sims 4). About once every two days I'm able to play and than the app and my game look completely fine. After that, same problem again: black screen, game keeps loading forever but doenst open, ... I also haven't been able to contact EA. Should I try to clear my cache? If so, wouldn't that delete my whole in game progress? (I have no knowledge about these kinds of things, sorry if I sound a bit stupid.)

@lore_bubbles  Try clearing the EA App's cache, which has nothing to do with your game data:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

And no, clearing the game's cache wouldn't erase your data either, but it also wouldn't help with an EA App issue.

If clearing the App's cache doesn't help, download a fresh copy of the App's installer and run it.  You should see the option to repair the App rather than install, so choose that.

If the App still doesn't work, you should then be able to remove it with Revo.  If not, restart your computer, go into Program Files > Electronic Arts, and delete the EA Desktop folder; if you get an error, kill anything that starts with EA in the Task Manager, including in the background processes list.  Then use Piriform's CCleaner (again, the free version is fine) to remove anything EA App-related.  Make sure you do NOT delete the Electronic Arts folder in Documents, as this is where your saves and other Sims 4 user data are located.
