Re: EA app changed language of The Sims 4?

It is also possible to change the language by editing the registry.

In my case, first changing key "Locale" in
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Maxis\The Sims 4"
and
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Maxis\The Sims 4"
to "cs_CZ" for Czech (you need to figure out the locale code for your language yourself),
then in EA App click The Sims 4 > Manage > Repair.

It will download the string files responsible for language and when done, the game will run in the desired language.

If you don't understand any part of this answer, the safest bet would be to just reinstall the game.

  • @Che4tek Thanks! I read elsewhere to just edit the string in WOW6432Node, but this wasn't enough. I don't know if it was editing both strings or the repair that did the trick, but it worked :-)
  • @Che4tek Thank you so much (I was dreading having to uninstall the game just to change the language) but this worked wonderfully and was pretty quick to get done. tysm.
  • @Che4tek tried changing my game to english but i'm getting an error "game language not supported" in the ea app

@insuburbia  That will happen if you don't have access to that particular language.  There's no way around it within the EA App.  If you really want to play in a different language, uninstall the App version of Sims 4 and reinstall through Steam, which only offers the global (all languages included) version.  Then you can install any packs you own in the EA App, and they'll load when you launch the game from Steam.
