Uninstalling the Sims 4 on Steam Deck uninstalls the EA App with it. It all goes into a sort of pretend c drive located here:
/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1222670/pfx/drive_c
so:
- EA App Location: /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1222670/pfx/drive_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/EA Desktop/EA Desktop/
- Sims 4 Documents folder Location: /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1222670/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/
I tried adding EA App as a non steam game, but it wouldn't launch it, so then I set in compatibility to use proton experimental, but that didn't work either.
@dragon3025 I was going to say I'm sorry, I don't have any other suggestions here, but it sounds like you've figured it out. That's great, and thanks for updating the OP.
If you run into issues in the future, you're better off asking on a dedicated Linux or Steam Deck forum. I asked around, but no one else I talked to has the Linux knowledge to help with this kind of problem. This forum is almost excluslively Windows users, with the occasional Mac person; I don't even know of anyone who plays Sims 4 in any version of Linux.
